Hello and welcome back to my blog loves,

Around this time of year there are holiday parties galore so it can be quite difficult to find the perfect outfit. I have put together my top 3 favorite holiday dresses which can hopefully give you some inspiration.

This peach lace dress is absolute perfection. The fit, the color, the cut, everything about this dress screams femininity. This dress is perfect to wear this holiday season if you live in a warmer climate like Texas, but if you don’t, don’t fret! You can still rock this dress by adding a scarf over your shoulder to keep you warm!

 Outfit #3

IMG_2220

The “oh so famous” holiday red dress with a twist. If you follow my insta and blog then you have probably encountered this dress, and honestly I can not get enough of it! Of course I like this shirt with the full set, including the gharara pants and dupatta, but boy do I think this looks hella good as a dress. Btw this only works perfectly because there is full lining in the shirt!

The details are my favorite! The floral embroidery paired with the sparkly gold polka dots give this dress such a unique vibe.

I love adding a bit of desi flare to my outfits; however, if you wanna make this outfit look more americanized, then opt for some simple jewelry.

HOW TO DOUBLE YOUR WARDROBE ft. Go Shopaholic

HOW TO DOUBLE YOUR WARDROBE ft. Go Shopaholic

To all my brown girls out there, how many of y’alls closet is FILLED with desi clothes that you wear AT MOST three or four times?! …Yeah, I’m right there with you! Recently, on my way to a shoot, I had an epiphany. The gorgeous shirt or (kameez) of my outfit is fully lined, and I wondered how it would look like if I ditched the pants and scarf, and wore it as a holiday dress. I decided to try it out, and took pictures of both the full desi outfit and then separately, the shirt, as just a dress. It turned out AMAZING! A couple of girls even complimented me on how pretty my DRESS was. Whaaaaaaat?! Take a look at the transformation, and lemme know what you think in the comment section below! Does the outfit look better with the gharara pants and dupatta(scarf) or as a dress….or both? 😉 I’m thinking of doing a series on how to incorporate pieces of desi clothes into american outfits or possibly a fusion. So, stay tuned!

ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE BRAZILIAN BLOWOUT

BH6C2803

I have REALLY thick, curly, and frizzy hair, which is super hard to maintain. In middle school I went through a huge mousse phase, where my hair was crunchy 24/7, until I discovered my holy grail, the hair straightener. I use to spend hourssss on my hair routine, which consisted of washing my hair, blow drying, and then finally straightening it. That went on for at least 2-3 years, until I figured out how to curl my hair lol. Needless to say my hair went through a lot of heat over the years. When I was in the midst of wedding planning, I had a slight breakdown thinking about our honeymoon, because I didn’t want to spend hours doing my hair. However, I did want my hair to naturally look beautiful for my husband, like the whole “I woke up like this vibe” (lol I can picture my baby sister cringe while reading that). So I researched, and found the Brazilian Blowout and the keratin treatment. After months of looking into both treatments, I finally decided on the Brazilian Blowout. I actually went and got the treatment done the morning that our flight was going to take off, and ever since then, last September, I have religiously gotten the treatment done every 4ish months. I recently went and had my 6th Brazilian Blowout done (yes I know I’m obsessed), so I figured I would share my experience with yall 🙂

What it is:

Brazilian Blowout is a treatment that temporarily straightens hair by sealing in keratin into the hair via the use of a flat iron. It improves the appearance of hair by creating a protective layer around the hair shaft for smooth, frizz free, and shiny locks. It doesn’t cause the hair to be stick straight, you actually have very natural looking hair that is bouncy yet frizz-free, pretty much everyone’s dream hair huh?

IMG_7636

The Process:

The Brazilian Blowout is a three step process. They start off by shampooing your hair with the brazilian blowout shampoo which makes your hair super squeaky clean. Then they add the brazilian blowout product to your hair and blow dry. Finally, they straighten your hair which seals the product, and you rinse it out after about 2 days or so to let the product sink in. Overall, it usually takes around 45 minutes to an hour for the whole procedure to take place, which is SO freaking convenient.

IMG_7519

How long does it last?

It can last anywhere between 6 weeks to 4 months depending on how well you maintain your hair.

Cost?

It can cost anywhere from $75-180 depending on where you go get the treatment done.

Before

Maintenance?

In order to keep your hair frizz free and smooth for as long as possible, my stylist Danielle, recommends using sulfate and paraben free shampoo and conditioner. Unfortunately, these are pricier than the average drugstore shampoo. I’ll link the shampoo and conditioner I use down below.

After

Overall, I highly recommend getting the Brazilian Blowout treatment done, it saves me so much more time getting ready. Now all I have to do is wait for my hair to dry after taking a shower and that’s pretty much it. It dries frizz-free and wavy. Also, I wanted to give a shout out to my girl Danielle Alyson or @hairby_daniellealyson on Instagram for blessing my hair, she is literally a hair god. I 10/10 recommend her for all your hair needs ❤ Questions? Leave them in the comments below! Don’t forget to subscribe and follow me on Instagram @faroo101

FALL INSPO (#1)

BH6C2666

I’ve been counting down to Fall since pretty much the end of winter, even though, let’s be honest, it’s not like Texas ever has a decent Fall. However, this year we’re definitely starting to get fall like weather and I could not be more excited! Seriously, Fall is my FAVORITE season. Just the thought of cozy sweaters, fuzzy socks, and pumpkin spice lattes (or pumpkin spice anything) puts the biggest smile on my face :). As the season changes, I have also started transitioning my outfits and wanted to share bi-weekly fall inspo.

BH6C2694

I love pairing neutrals with a bold statement, and that is exactly what I did with this outfit. I kept the shirt pretty basic, paired it with some extra ripped jeans to give the outfit a more casual feel, wore my long camel colored jacket (which I LOVE btw, it goes with absolutely everything), my thick gold hoop earrings, and topped it with my gold studded black boots to complete the look. I’m obsessed with this combo, and can’t stop wearing this outfit, hahah. Lemme know what ya’ll think! Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram @faroo101 and of course, my blog cause, girrrrrrrl, you really don’t wanna miss what’s coming next! ❤

Be YOU, bold and confident

Be YOU, bold and confident

Ever since I was a kid, I have always loved beauty and fashion. I remember the days where it was super trendy to match your eyeshadow to your shirt (comment down below if you were also very matchy-matchy like muah), and oh my goodness, boy did I take that trend seriously. I literally wore BLUE eyeshadow while I was wearing a BLUE shirt, and no, not just a touch of blue, but blue on my whole eyelid…how embarrassing. But somehow I always rocked it with a smile on my face, due to the mere fact that I didn’t care what people thought of me. I mean, granted, when people bluntly and without hesitation, to my face, told me that I looked crazy, it did hurt, but I always talked myself out of it. Because honestly, who cares what people think?! Girls, if you think you look bomb wearing bright blue eyeshadow, colored contacts, crazy prints, or bright ass silver shoes (like I am) then YOU DO YOU BOO! Be bold, be confident, and wear exactly what you want, without fear of judgement.

BH6C2882

5 reasons why fashion is about being TRUE to YOU

  1. Fashion and beauty are forms of self-expression, so wear what YOU want
  2. You don’t need permission to live out loud and be exactly who you are
  3. Life is short….wear the dress
  4. If the outfit came to mind…then you already want to wear it, so go ahead and wear it
  5. There’s no need to dress like like everyone else. It’s much more fun to create your own look.
